The CRIE Project is led by a qualified team of individuals consisting of the project leader Monte Shaffer who has a PhD in Marketing, the Research Associate Gianna Del Corso who has a PhD in Computational Mathematics, and a Professor of Algorithms and Data Structures Francesco Romani who has a PhD in Mathematics. Several years ago, Monte discovered from his colleague Brian that patent data was difficult to extract from the USPTO website; he devised some computer code to automatically extract the data and encode them into a database. Thus CRIE was born. Zvi Griliches sought to make patent data easily available to academic researchers to use in their studies... a couple decades later, CRIE is carrying on his work. |
