CRIE makes data more publicly accessible and seeks a data-driven understanding of innovation The Road Map and Data Priorities of CRIE consist of contiguous data processes every Tuesday, readily available longitudinal patent tables, Normalized priorities of user's needs, outlines of key auxiliary patent data, harvesting historical patent data and patent data application as well as staying open to foreign patent data suggestions from users. Several years ago, Monte discovered from his colleague Brian that patent data was difficult to extract from the USPTO website; he devised some computer code to automatically extract the data and encode them into a database. Thus CRIE was born. |
